Dr. Shefali Gandhi-List was born and raised in the Garden State of New Jersey (but swears loyalty to the Philadelphia Eagles).  She left the East Coast to study molecular biology and German at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with high honors.  She then attended medical school at Washington University in St. Louis, where she won awards in biochemistry and worked with disadvantaged pregnant women to provide prenatal care and labor support.

Dr. Gandhi-List then completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Ohio State University Medical Center.  She gained invaluable experience while caring for extremely high-risk obstetric patients and operating on patients with complex gynecologic conditions.  She then completed her cross-country move by coming to California and was in practice at Sequoia Hospital for several years, before ultimately joining Women’s Care Medical Group.

What attracted Dr. Gandhi-List to obstetrics and gynecology was the ability to combine primary care and surgery in a single specialty and to be involved in every aspect of a woman’s life --- including those excruciating periods as a teenager, the exciting times of trying to get pregnant and giving birth, and the roller coaster ride of perimenopause.  In particular, Dr. Gandhi-List’s interests include:
 
• Obstetric and pelvic ultrasound
• High-risk pregnancy
• Polycystic ovarian syndrome
• Infertility and recurrent miscarriage
• Contraception and family planning

Dr. Gandhi-List is trained in the latest surgical techniques, including non-invasive hysteroscopic sterilization (Essure), laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and endometrial ablation (Novasure).  She serves on the Continuing Medical Education Committee of Sequoia Hospital.  She is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. 

She currently resides in Redwood Shores with her husband Dan, who is a software engineer, their daughter Priya, their twin boys Ilan and Aakash, and the family beagle Sherlock.  Her hobbies include reading psychological thrillers, traveling to national parks, and watching all dance-themed reality shows.
