| Dr. Liu was born in Taiwan and emigrated
to the United States in 1970. He lived in Connecticut and Pennsylvania
and attended Carnegie Mellon University and graduated with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. He then decided to
follow his father's footsteps into the medical profession. He
attended the University of Pittsburgh Medical School, where
he achieved Honors in Advanced Medicine and Surgical Dissection.
He went on to Case Western Reserve University for his specialty
training in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He received the Outstanding
Resident Teacher of the Year Award for two consecutive years
in 1986 and 1987 and was Executive Chief Resident in 1987. He
also met his wife, Dr. Dorothy Shoup, during his residency.
He became Board Certified in Ob/Gyn in 1990.
Dr. Liu joined the Redwood Medical Group in 1989 and along
with his wife, Dr. Shoup, started private practice together
in 1992 under the name Women's Care Medical Group. He is past
president of the Peninsula Gynecologic Society, has served as
chairman of the Department of Ob/Gyn at Sequoia Hospital, and
currently serves on the Medical Executive Committee as Chairman
of the Perinatal Control Committee.
Dr. Liu and Dr. Shoup have two boys who were both born at Sequoia
Hospital. He speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese. He plays the guitar
and enjoys music, golf and spending time with his two boys. |
